PLEASE NOTE: due to holidays, the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre's veterinary ophthalmology service will be closed from Saturday, July 20, to Tuesday, August 5, 2024. During this time period, please refer any cases to another ophthalmology service in Canada.

What to Expect

While the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre shares many similarities to other veterinary hospitals, there are some differences that may have an impact on your appointment.

Appointments and Referrals

Animal Owners

This is a referral-based service. You will need to have your veterinarian submit a referral form to the Veterinary Medical Centre before you can make an appointment with this clinical service. 

Your local veterinarian may choose to consult with the WCVM ophthalmology service about your animal’s condition and possible treatment protocols. At that point, your veterinarian may decide to refer your animal to the VMC's ophthalmology service.
