CE session: equine euthanasia alternatives
The Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) is holding an equine continuing education (CE) session titled, "Equine euthanasia alternatives in an environment without Euthanyl," on Monday evening, June 28, 2021.
7:00-8:30 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2021
This session will focus on alternatives that veterinarians can use for equine euthanasia in response to the global shortage of pentobarbital, the active ingredient in common euthanasia drugs — including Euthanyl in Canada.
Speakers include Dr. Nora Chavarria, a clinical associate in the WCVM's Equine Field Service, and Dr. Chris Clark, a specialist in large animal medicine at the WCVM.
The event, which is hosted by the college's continuing education team, is available to all veterinarians, registered veterinary technologists and other veterinary professionals. Cost is $25 per person.
