Update on end-of-life care and related services at VMC
End-of-life care is an emotional and urgent time for pet owners, which is best supported by their primary veterinarian.
The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) deeply values the trust placed in the hospital's clinical team during these moments, but to ensure continuity of care and timely support, the VMC kindly asks referring clinics to make every effort to accommodate euthanasia appointments for their own clients during their regular business hours.
For future requests, the VMC clinical team will be directing clients to schedule euthanasia services and related support with their primary veterinarian. This approach will help the VMC manage its caseload and resources for patients currently under care at the veterinary teaching hospital.
Please note that the VMC is reviewing its policy, and there will be changes to the pricing of cremation and necropsy services.
The VMC appreciates your understanding and collaboration as we work together to provide compassionate, timely care for all patients and their families.
