VMC asks vet clinics to support animal euthanasia requests from regular clients
The WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) has recently experienced a significant increase in animal euthanasia requests from clients who are primarily associated with other veterinary clinics.
These requests are for appointments during regular business hours at the hospital.
End-of-life care is a deeply emotional and urgent matter for animal owners. To ensure continuity of care, the VMC’s clinical team asks that referring clinics make every effort to accommodate euthanasia appointments for their own clients during regular business hours.
For future requests, the VMC clinical team will now be asking clients to schedule euthanasia services and support with their regular veterinarian. These efforts will allow the VMC to better manage its caseload and resources for patients currently under care at the veterinary teaching hospital.
The VMC appreciates your understanding and collaboration in providing compassionate and timely care to all patients and their families.
