Winter safety for cats

Lucky is a fitting name for this kitty. She survived severe injuries — probably the result of her climbing inside a vehicle’s engine compartment to keep warm and then being struck by the fan belt once the engine started. Unfortunately this is a common occurrence in the cooler fall and winter months. To ensure your cat’s safety, keep your pet indoors during the winter and make sure your cat is safe inside before you go anywhere. To protect other cats in your neighbourhood, check underneath your vehicle and pound on the hood or honk your horn before starting your engine. Click here to read Lucky’s story.
